Norman Chamber of Commerce to Celebrate 100 Years - Annual Banquet Announced

on December 22, 2018

The Norman Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce that it will be turning 100 years old in 2019. To kick off this year-long celebration, the Chamber will host its annual Chamber Awards Banquet with a centennial, “big-band” theme on Thursday, Jan. 31, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Embassy Suites in Norman.  The Chamber also launched a new logo to signify its 100th anniversary.

“For 100 years, the Norman Chamber of Commerce has been the voice of business in our community,” said Scott Martin, president and CEO of the Norman Chamber of Commerce. “It has always been our goal to enrich Norman through job creation and expansion. Our members have played an integral role in Norman’s success, and been a source of leadership throughout our history. We pause to celebrate the path that brought us to this moment but look ahead to the impact we will make during our next 100 years.”

The Chamber’s annual banquet is a wonderful opportunity to come out for its largest event of the year, where decision makers from the Norman business community come together for a night of camaraderie and celebration. This year’s banquet’s presenting sponsor is AT&T.

In addition, the Chamber will be presenting awards in the following categories:

  • Women's Leadership Award
  • Greenovation Awards for Conservation, Recycling and Transportation
  • NEXT Under 40 Awards
  • Small Business of the Year
  • Large Business of the Year
  • Volunteer of the Year
  • Ambassador of the Year

Award nomination forms for several of the awards mentioned can be found here:

The Chamber will also celebrate its outgoing chair of the Board of Directors, Shelley Coleman-Cox, passing the gavel to the incoming chair, Casey Vinyard. The dress for the event is black tie/cocktail.
