The Norman Chamber strives to present meaningful, educational, and fun events to the membership. Chamber events include the Annual Auction, Annual Banquet, quarterly Lunch and Learns, quarterly Women's Leadership events, legislative events, General Membership Meetings, and more. 35 South Lunch
The 35 South Project is designed to keep Norman-to-OKC commuters in contact with what’s happening in Norman. Biannual lunches are held in Oklahoma City to provide updates to people who may not otherwise have the opportunity to hear.
The Chamber’s auction is the only annual fundraiser on behalf of the Chamber. Typically held in the fall, the event has a live auction, a silent auction, a raffle, and other fun activities that coordinate to the event’s theme.
The Chamber’s annual banquet is the ‘changing of the guard’ for the Chamber Board of Directors. A wrap-up of the previous year is given by the outgoing chair and a vision of the future is given by the incoming chair. The Chamber also presents several member awards. This event is typically held in the beginning of the year.
The Annual Aviation Breakfast is a sponsored event that celebrates aviation in Norman, held at Max Westheimer Airport, and features an aviation focused speaker. This event is typically held in September or October.
Aviation & Transportation Luncheons
The Norman Chamber Aviation/Transportation Committee meets for lunch on the 2nd Tuesday of every other month (even months only) to discuss aviation and transportation issues relevant to the Norman community and promotes aviation in Norman and the Max Westheimer Airport as valuable community assets.
During city or state elections, the Norman Chamber will host Candidate Forums where all candidates may discuss issues and their platform in a moderated environment. The forums are free and open to the public.
City Council Meet & Greets
At least once a year the Chamber hosts a City Council "Meet and Greet" that brings together City of Norman leadership, City Council members, and Chamber leadership to continue making a difference by building strong partnerships for the good of Norman.
Coffees with Council
The Norman Chamber hosts regular "Coffees with Council" throughout the year that gives Norman constituents an opportunity to visit with their Ward's council member in an informal setting.
Hot Topic Membership Luncheon
This is a general membership lunch that covers a wide range of topics that appeal to Chamber members.
IMPACT Norman Luncheon
The IMPACT Norman Lunch is held at the end of each legislative session and features a statewide or federally elected official to give a wrap-up of the previous legislative session.
The free and open-to-the-public Legislative Breakfast is held in January or February of each year and features Norman’s State Senators and Representatives.
Lunch & Learns
Lunch and Learns are educational meetings specifically designed to assist small business owners. These quarterly lunches are aimed at providing small businesses with resources that will help them stay abreast with emerging technologies, financial issues, human resource best practices, and marketing concepts.
The Norman Chamber has many opportunities and events throughout the year where business owners and career professionals can meet one another to expand their network.
Norman Retail & Development Luncheon
Held during the first quarter of the year, this general membership luncheon is the premiere presentation of how Norman is growing and what economic development projects are being unveiled.
Partners in Education Breakfast
Annual breakfast to link local schools with business partners. Held annually in August.
State of the Schools Luncheon
The State of the Schools features the superintendent of Norman Public Schools, who provides insight into the current issues, needs, and achievements of the district. This event is held at the end of the year.
Women’s Leadership Lunch
Women’s Leadership lunches are female-only events that feature female CEO’s and business leaders. Topics focus on leadership, work-life balance, and other issues facing working women.
