The events committee assists in the planning and execution of the two largest events each year, the Chamber Banquet and Chamber Auction. This committee may be called on for additional events on an as needed basis. The committee will meet as needed prior to events for planning purposes.
The Chamber’s auction is the only annual fundraiser on behalf of the Chamber. Typically held in the fall, the event has a live auction, a silent auction, a raffle, and other fun activities that coordinate to the event’s theme.
The Chamber’s annual banquet is the ‘changing of the guard’ for the Chamber Board of Directors. A wrap-up of the previous year is given by the outgoing chair and a vision of the future is given by the incoming chair. The event also honors the NEXT Under 40 awards chosen by Norman NEXT, Norman Women’s Leadership Award, a Chairman’s award, and the President’s award. This event is typically held in the beginning of the year.
