Partners in Education

on July 3, 2018

The Partners in Education Breakfast will be held Thursday, Aug. 9 from 7:30–9 a.m. at JD McCarty Center.

The Norman Chamber of Commerce’s Business and Education Committee is preparing for the 2018-2019 school year. The committee’s Partners in Education Program aims to provide Norman Public Schools with extra support needed to fill gaps created by budget cuts. While financial contributions are always appreciated, the goal of the Partners program is to provide quality personal interaction with the schools.

This event will provide an opportunity for school representatives to meet with business representatives and partner for the upcoming school year. The committee will help match the identified needs of each school with a chamber business partner to assist with things such as reading, mentoring, judging spelling bees, or serving as test proctors. Partnerships benefit businesses by providing an opportunity for employees to become involved in the community through the schools.

The committee encourages businesses interested in serving as Partners, as well as current Partners, attend this annual breakfast.  The hope is to increase program awareness so that all schools can benefit from the vast resources in the Norman business community.   If you are interested in attending, please contact Erica Millar at 321-7260, or
