Norman Chamber of Commerce Hires President/CEOon
The Norman Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce its selection of Scott Martin as its new President and CEO. The Chamber's Board of Directors approved the decision today. Martin will begin his role full time on June 1, 2017.

"Scott brings the policy and leadership experience necessary to help our businesses and city prosper in the years to come. Scott's history as a pro-Norman, business advocate along with his experience with the City of Norman and political acumen make him the perfect selection."
The search process began in December with the hiring of Waverly Partners Public Relations to serve as the executive search firm. More than 100 applicants from across the country submitted their resumes for the position. Waverly Partners, LLC is a retained executive search firm with offices in strategic locations across the United States. They serve Fortune 500 service and manufacturing corporations, chambers of commerce and economic development organizations, entrepreneurial growth companies, nonprofit organizations, professional service firms, hospitals and healthcare systems and colleges and universities nationwide.

Scott Martin was born on December 28, 1971, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He graduated from Tulsa Memorial High School in 1991 and received his bachelor's degree in Political Science from The University of Oklahoma in 1995. Martin won election to the Oklahoma House of Representatives from District 46 in 2006 and re-election in 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014, and 2016. From 1995 to 1999 Martin worked for the City of Noble as Projects Director and Public Works Director. From 1999 to 2006 he worked for the City of Norman as the Assistant to the City Manager. While away from the Capitol, Scott worked for Republic Bank & Trust.
He continues active membership in the Norman and Noble Chambers of Commerce, Norman Business Association, National Rifle Association, OU Alumni Association, and United Way. Scott is an Eagle Scout, served as Student Body President at OU from 1994 to 1995, and is a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity; he is also a graduate of Leadership Norman class of 2000. He is married to the former Angie Berglan, and they are the proud parents of three sons; Luke, Blake, and Colton, and a daughter, Gentry. They attend Bethel Baptist Church in Norman, where Scott teaches Sunday School and is a Deacon.
Scott has been selected as one of OKC Business Journal's 40 Under Forty, the Journal Record's Achievers Under 40, the Norman Transcript's 15 Under 40, and has received the State Chamber of Commerce's Defender of Free Enterprise Award. Representative Martin serves as Chairman of the Appropriations and Budget Subcommittee on Education. He also serves on the following committees - Appropriations and Budget; Joint Committee on Appropriations and Budget; Elections and Ethics, and Higher Education and Career Tech.
Robin Allen will continue to serve as Interim President/CEO of the Norman Chamber until June 1st.
