Firehouse Art Center hosts its annual Holiday Gift Gallery

on November 6, 2019

Kick off the holiday season at the Firehouse Art Center’s annual holiday boutique, the Holiday Gift Gallery.

Open from Nov. 8 through Dec. 24, 2019, the gallery will feature a collection of original and unique artwork for sale made by regional artists. Holiday shoppers can find the perfect gift for everyone on their list.

Each year over one thousand Norman shoppers visit the Firehouse Art Center’s Holiday Gift Gallery and gift shop to find unique artwork in a variety of mediums from ceramics, photography, original prints and paintings, jewelry, blown glass, stained glass, glass ornaments, handmade toys, and mixed media pieces. All are original, handmade pieces and includes recent work from new and returning artists, 90% of whom reside in Oklahoma.

The Holiday Gift Gallery will have extended shopping hours on Friday, Nov. 15, and Friday, Dec. 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. Regular business hours are Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Shoppers can also support the FAC’s visual arts education programs for underserved groups by purchasing Firehouse-themed candles, greeting cards, and mugs. All proceeds from the sale of these items directly support programs provided by the Firehouse Art Center to veterans at the Norman Veterans Center, in-house classes for adults with disabilities, and art activities for children and teens at free community events and festivals.

The Firehouse Art Center is funded in part by grants from the Oklahoma Arts Council, Norman Arts Council, Allied Arts, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the City of Norman, as well as corporate sponsorships from Republic Bank & Trust and Fowler Automotive.
