Junior Achievement 80’s Bowl Comes to Norman

It’s time to get your “80’s on”, as well as your bowling shoes and have a rad time at the Junior Achievement (JA) Norman  80’s Bowl on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at the Sooner Bowling Center. Norman area FUNraising 4 JA participants will be treated to an afternoon of bowling.

JA’s portfolio of 22 programs for grades K-12 focuses in the areas of financial literacy, workforce readiness, and entrepreneurship, combating key social issues like the high dropout rate and the cycle of poverty.  It provides students with relevant, age-appropriate, experiential programs that develop student skills and help them realize the power of their potential.

The annual JA bowling event is the largest fundraising event for Junior Achievement of Oklahoma’s Oklahoma City Region. Funds raised during the “JA 80’s Bowl” campaign will help provide JA programs to over 17,000 students in the Oklahoma City region, including Norman. JA programs are provided at no cost to public schools and funding is secured through individuals, corporate partnerships, grants, and special events. 

Teams consist of five individuals. The suggested team goal is $750 or $150 raised per team member. Teams raising at least $750 will be treated to two hours of bowling, shoe rental, an 80’s Bowl t-shirt, dinner, and entry into door prize drawings. Prizes are awarded to the top fundraising team, individual, and to the entire team best representing the 80’s theme! Donations can be secured online at https://secure.qgiv.com/event/939972/ or offline through fundraising projects. Many companies utilize this event as a teambuilding activity for their employees.
