It's Award Season at the Chamber

We love celebrating our members! Each year, we honor our members during our Annual Banquet (set for Thursday, Jan. 31, at Embassy Suites Norman from 6-9 p.m.) and it is time to talk 2019 awards! This is a great opportunity to highlight your business and the wonderful people who make your business successful!

Women's Leadership Award
  
The Norman Chamber is excited to announce it will begin taking nominations for the 2019 Women's Leadership Award. This award honors female leaders who actively inspire other women to achieve their full potential. The Women's Leadership Award recognizes individuals who strive toward the highest levels of personal and professional accomplishment, who excel in their chosen field, devote time and energy to Norman, Oklahoma in a meaningful way, and forge the paths of leadership for other women to follow.
We are thrilled to honor the outstanding women that help others in promoting leadership in our community. Past recipients of this honor, formerly known as the ATHENA Award, have included Molly Shi Boren, Dr. Nancy O'Brien, Cindy Merrick, Sherri Coale, Jaci Williams, Chris Aubrey Purcell, Dr. Nicole Jarvis, Paula Price, Autumn McMahon, and most recently, Coach Patty Gasso.
Nominations must be turned into the Chamber by 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 14, 2018. Nominees will be contacted to complete an application for the award. Nominators OR nominees may fill out the application. To nominate someone for this award, please fill out this form.
The applications will be reviewed by a diverse group of Norman leaders and the recipient will be announced at the Annual Banquet of the Norman Chamber of Commerce. For further information, please contact Melissa Peterson at 321-7260 or melissa@normanchamber.com.

Greenovation Awards

Applications are now available for the Chamber's 2019 Green Awards. Awards will be presented in the areas of Conservation, Recycling, and Transportation for both large and small businesses. The Chamber strives to be Norman’s primary resource providing leadership on green initiatives to empower business and the community to facilitate healthy growth in order to create a sustainable environment. If you have an exemplary and innovative program, please fill out an application by Friday, Jan. 4. Any Chamber member in good standing is eligible to apply.

NEXT Under 40 Awards

Norman NEXT is now accepting nominations for NEXT Under 40, a program created to recognize young professionals who are making a positive difference in the Norman community. Nominations will be accepted until Dec. 7.

To nominate a young professional, please send their NAME, EMAIL and PHONE to leigh@normanchamber.com. All nominees will be contacted and asked to submit an application for consideration by Monday, Dec. 21.

NEXT under 40 is a collaboration between Norman NEXT and The Norman Transcript. It exists to honor young professionals, 21-40 years of age, dedicated to making a difference in Norman. Honorees are determined based on demonstrated leadership and an interest in making Norman a great community. As a part of their selection, honorees will be showcased in a Sunday edition of The Norman Transcript, and be announced at the Chamber of Commerce banquet on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019.

Norman NEXT is an organization for young professionals, 21-40 years of age, working or living in Norman. NEXT's mission is to be the leading influence in making Norman the community where young professionals want to live, work, and play. Through its various teams, Norman NEXT provides different avenues for young professionals to take an active role in making a positive impact in the community.
