Downtown Norman
Norman’s newly revitalized downtown blends art, architecture, entertainment, shopping and dining into one great area. The beautiful architecture found in the area dates back to the early twentieth century, and has been preserved to its truest form. With the Historic District Ordinance adoption in 1993, the City of Norman joined thousands of other cities across the United States that are working to preserve their local history and culture.
From gourmet grocery stores and charming antique shops to small art galleries, music venues, jewelry stores, local banks and several independent stores, Norman’s downtown offers an eclectic experience with something for everyone.
University North Park
University North Park is a great new shopping area located between Robinson Street and Tecumseh Road. While this area is currently under development, many great, varied stores and restaurants are already available. This two mile stretch will soon be the home of parks, offices and high-end retail that boost Norman’s appeal to visitors and employers. As the area continues to develop, new restaurants, shops and stores will come to the 280-acre retail development at University North Park.
Coming soon to University North Park will be a LifeStyle Center including high-end retail, restaurants and a movie theatre adjacent to Legacy Park. Legacy Park will feature a large lake with walking trails, fountains and public art. In the center of the park will be a large outdoor amphitheater for summer concerts and events. University North Park will be fully developed within the next few years.
