Getting your utilities turned on in your new household is relatively easy, and most utility connections can be completed by phone.

Electricity

Most of urban Norman is serviced by Oklahoma Gas & Electric Company (OG&E). To set up service, call 1-800-522-0280.

Rural Norman and some new urban neighborhoods are serviced by the multi-county Oklahoma Electric Cooperative (OEC), 321-2024. The OEC local office is located at 242 24th Avenue N.W. and is open weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Water, Sewer, & Sanitation

City services such as water, sewer, and sanitation (trash service) are arranged through the City of Norman Utility Customer Service, 329-1023.

Gas

Natural gas service is provided by Oklahoma Natural Gas (ONG), 551-4000. The local office is located at 625 N. Berry Road and is open 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., weekdays.

Telephone

Two companies offer local and long distance service to the Norman area: AT&T and Cox Communications.
For service through AT&T, residential customers may call 1-800-464-7928 Monday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. or Sunday from noon to 11:00 p.m. Business customers may call 1-800-499-7928 weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Cox Communications, 600-8282, offers local and long distance service to the Norman area. The local office is located at 1278 N. Interstate Dr. and is open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Customer service representatives can be reached by phone weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Cable Television

Cable television is offered by Cox Communications, 600-8282. Customer service is available weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 1278 N. Interstate Dr.
