Public Safety Awards Banquet

The 2017 Public Safety Awards Banquet was held on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at the Marriott Conference Center at NCED.  Awards were presented to outstanding officers from the following agencies: the Cleveland County District Attorney's Office, the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office, EMSSTAT-Norman Regional Health System, the Norman Fire Department, the Norman Police Department, and the University Of Oklahoma Department Of Public Safety.  Also, the Mary Abbott Children’s House presented the Wayne Martin Memorial Award.

In addition to the officers, recipients of two Crime Stoppers Memorial Scholarships were recognized. These scholarships are named in honor of the late John Dutch, Norman Fire Chief of 14 years and Steve W. Cain, retired Captain who served with the Norman Police Department for 29 years.  Both of the scholarship winners are the dependents of public safety personnel employed in Cleveland County.
