Membership Survey Results

During the last fiscal year that ended April 30, the Chamber conducted an online survey of the membership with the goal of better serving the members. One hundred forty-three people participated in the survey.

Creating a strong local environment was ranked the most important function of the Chamber. Providing networking opportunities and business contacts was rated second most important. Following closely was promoting the community through activities such as the leadership programs. Representing business interests to the government was ranked the least important of the four choices.

Four out of five respondents indicated that their expectations of Chamber membership are being met.

E-mail was preferred by far as the method of communication. Almost 92% of respondents reported reading the Weekly e-Minder. About 82% indicated reading the monthly e-Journal.

Networking was identified by more than two-thirds of survey participants as something that makes their Chamber membership valuable. Nearly one-third cited committee participation.

The economy and financial issues were listed as the top challenge facing one quarter of the members that replied.

The most popular Chamber programs were Business After Hours, committees, and leadership programs.

The Chamber Board would like to thank all of the participants in the survey. Members’ comments and suggestions are always taken in to great consideration and are always appreciated.
